Met Department Instructed Fishermen To Be On Alert On Rough Seas

Image result for rough seas in sri lankaThe Meteorology Department has today(17) instructed the fishermen to be on alert on rough seas as sea areas off the coast may be rough at times with strong winds up to 70 kilo meters per hour.

The met department has also stated that showers or thunder showers will occur in most parts of the country including galle and matara districts.


Train Services In Northern Railway Line Disrupted Due To Floods

Image result for sri lanka trains to northThe train services in Northern Railway Line disrupted due to floods it has been reported. Train Services in Northern Line has disrupted due to flooding between Thambuththegama and Thalawa Railway Line.

The train began from Colombo fort has terminated at Thambuththegama according to reports.

Meanwhile train services  between Rambukkana and Kadugannawa terminated  today(17)   due to derailment between balana and ihalakotte railway lines.


Airforce And Navy Deployed Helicopters And Boats To Rescue Over 200 Flood Victims In Thabbowa

Image result for rescueThe Airforce and Navy have deployed Helicopters and Boats besides their personal to rescue over 200 persons tarpped at Thabbowa area(In North Central Province) due to the floods it has been reported.

A large number of Army and Navy Personal have been deployed in most parts of the country to carryingout rescue and relief operations for flood victims .

Navy Have Managed To Control Flood Waters Reached Parliament Complex

Image result for sri lanka parliamentAs the water level in Diyawanna Lake is on the rise the flood waters have reached the Parliament Complex situated in Sri Jayawardenapura ,Kotte today(17) it has been reported.

To control the flood situation at Parliament Building ,Sri Lanka Navy have recruited two  teams comprising with 132 Navy Personal (102 and 30 Navy Personal)for the duty in Parliment Complex .

The team has managed to control the flood waters reached Parliament by using sand bags the Sri Lanka Navy have announced.
