Land Slide And Cut Slope Failure Threats In Four Districts Due To The Heavy Showers -Disaster Management Center

If the heavy showers prevailing in the island at present continues for another 24 hours there's a possibility  of occurring land slides and cut slope failures  in four districts according to the Disaster Management Center(DMC).

Accordingly land slide and cut slope failure threat is there at  Kurunagala,Badulla,Monaragala and Rathnapura Districts DMC has stated.

Eppawala Police Have Arrested A Sub Inspector Who Behaved In Disorderly Manner At Eppawala Police Grounds

The Eppawala Police have yesterday (07) arrested a Sub Inspector attached to a Police Station in Embilipitiya  who behaved in disorderly manner at Eppawala Police Grounds.

During his off day  the  Police Sub Inspector  yesterday went to the Eppawala Police Grounds and with the influence of  liquor  disturbed the people who gathered  at the  ground at that time it has been reported,

The sub inspector  also attempted to assault  a Police Officer who tried to avoid his acts according to the Police.

New Rail Bus Service Has Been Inaugurated Between Kandy And Peradeniya

A New Rail Bus Service has been inaugurated between Kandy and Peradeniya with effect from today(08).

It will travel eight times daily between Kandy and Peradeniya cities  according to the authorities.

The Rail Bus Service has been launched as a solution for the heavy road traffic currently prevailing in both Kandy and Peradeniya Cities .

Sixteen Students Attached To Lunugala Muslim School Got Injured And Hospitalized Due To A School Wall Collapsing On Them

Sixteen Students attached to Lunugala(In Uva Province) Muslim School have been injured and hospitalized this evening due to a school wall collapsing  on them while studying in a School Building.

The injured students were admitted to Lunugala District Hospital and four of them were transferred to Badulla Hospital in serious condition according to Lunugala Police.

The wall was collapsed while the students were attending a Tuition Class conducted at the School the Police have stated.
