Health Minister Has Banned The Utilizing Of World Bank Grant Provided For Combating Non Communicable Diseases In Sri Lanka For Foreign Tours And Parties
The Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has strictly banned the Health Ministry Officials for utilizing a portion of 200 Million US Dollar grant provided by the World Bank to combat non communicable diseases in Sri Lanka for foreign tours and parties.
The Minister has personally instructed the Health Ministry Officials to utilize the World Bank Grant only for programmes designed to combat non communicable diseases in the country the Health Ministry Sources have said.
The World Bank has this year provided a grant of 200 Million US Dollars to Sri Lanka for combating the non communicable diseases in the country which are on the increase.

President Sirisena Has Invited German Investors To Invest In Sri Lanka To Take Advantage From The Growing Economic Opportunities
The visiting Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday(17) invited German Investors to invest in Sri Lanka to take an advantage from the increasing economic opportunities in the country.
Sri Lankan President has also requested the German Investors to interact with the Sri Lankan Business Delegation accompanied him on the tour for further investment opportunities in joint ventures.
President has made these remarks after met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and several other top officials of the German Government and Business Community in Berlin yesterday.
Term Of The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry Has Been Extended Up To 03rd Of March 2017
The term of the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry (PRECIFAC)appointed to investigate on large scale fraud activities of previous government has been extended by one year according to the secretary of the Commission Lacille De Silva.
Accordingly the term of the Presidential Commission Of Inquiry has been extended up to 03rd of March 2017.The current term of the Commission is due to be expired on 03rd of March this year.
