Seven Injured Due To A Motor Car Collision



persons were injured and hospitalized after the  two Motor Cars they were travelling in colliding with each other at Molagoda area in Kegalle of the Colombo-Kandy main road this noon(18) according to reports.

Accordingly due to this incident Seven persons including  two infants and three females were injured and admitted to the Kegalle General Hospital for treatment .The incident has occurred as one of the drivers in a car fallen  sleep whilst on the wheal it has been revealed.

NBRO Issued Land Slide Warning To Three Districts

The National Building Research Organization(NBRO) had issued a 24 hour long  landslide warning to seven Divisional secretaries belongs to Three districts as a result of the adverse weather conditions  prevailing in at present .

Accordingly the  land slide warning has been issued to seven divisional secretaries belongs to Galle,Matara  and Kalutara Districts for  the period 7.30 p.m last night until 7.30 p.m tonight the NBRO has stated.

Seventeen Estate Houses Were Destroyed Due To A Fire

Seventeen Estate Sector houses at Shinwatte area in Pundaluoya ( Central Province) have been destroyed due to a fire broken, out in the housing scheme last night(16))it has been reported.Due to this fire 27 families  in the estate sector are being displaced it has been reported . 

Eight houses out of the twenty four houses in the Housing scheme were completely destroyed and nine houses were severely damaged as a result of the fire according to the reports.The fire started from.a house and spreads  to other houses it has been revealed.

Thirty Nine Candidates Handed Over Their Nominations For The Presidential Election-One Was Absent

 Out of the 40 candidates who were deposited money for the forthcoming Presidential Election 39 candidates had been handed over their nominations to the National Elections Commission yesterday(15).According to the  Commission Sarath Kumara Gunaratne who were deposited  Rs.75,000 as the bond last wednesday (14) didn't hand over his nomination .



Accordingly President Ranil Wikramasinghe as an Independent candidate running under the symbol Gas Cylinder ,Anura Kumara Dissanayake from National Peoples Power party (NPP) and Sajith Premadasa from Main opposition Samgijanabalawegaya Party have handed over their nominations as the key candidates running for the forthcoming Presidential Election  scheduled to be held on 21st of september.Also Former MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka had handed over nomination as an Independent candidate running under the symbol Lantern  former MP ,Namal Rajapakshe had handover his nomination behalf of the Sri lanka Podujana Peramuna party and Dilith Jayaweera has handed over his nomination behalf of sarvajana Balaya Party.

Twenty Four Candidates To Contest In The Presidential Election

Twenty four candidates had been handed over nominations for the forthcoming Presidential Elections scheduled to be held on 21st of September, up to date according to the Elections Commission .Accordingly Eleven candidates had handed over their nominations from recognized Political parties,twelve candidates handed over their nominations as per suggested by a voter and one from another political party the Commission has stated.  


If the number of Candidates contesting for the Presidential election is increasing the size of the Ballot papers will be expanded to a A-4 size the president of the Elections Commission Ananda Rathnayake has stated
