The Welipanna   Entry of the Southern Express Highway has been temporarily closed  down today(01) due to the floods in the entry  it has  been reported.The Welipanna Entry road is being. Flooded. As a result of the continuous rain prevailing in the area.

Due to this. Situation vehicles cannot enter or leave from  the  Highway through. Welipanna Entry the Road Development Authority has stated.

A Sri Lankan ISIS Member Arrested In Colombo

A Person who had close relationship with Three Sri Lankan ISIS Group members taken into custody  Gujarat  india had been  arrested  in Colombo by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officers it has been reported. He was arrested during a raid carried out by the  CID officers in Colombo.

The suspect  has been identified as a 46 year old  Osman Pushparaj    a resident of  Dematagoda area(Colombo District).Security personal suspect that he may have lead the three ISIS members arrested in  India  last weak.

SAITM Private Medical Collage To Be Handed Over To Moratuwa University

The Private Medical Collage South Asian Institute Of  Technology and Medicine (SAITM) and affliated Dr.Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital are scheduled to be handed over to Moratuwa University in  this, August accotding to President's office.

The new academic year of the Medical collage is scheduled to be opened on January next year.

Prices Of Three Varieties Of Fuel Reduced

 The Prices Of Three varieties of fuel had been reduced with effect from last.night(31) according  to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation(CEYPETCO).Accordingly the Price of Octane 92 Petrol had been reduced by Rs.13 ,The price of a Liter of  Lanka white Diesel  by Rs.16 and price of a liter of Kerosene oil by  Rs.13 .           

                                                                 

The prices of Octane-95 Petrol and Super Diesel have not been reduced  the Ceypetco has announced.Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) has also reduced their fuel prices similarly compare to the Ceypetco prices .

Chairman Of The Mawbima Janatha Party Tendered His Resignation

 The Chairman of the "Mawbima Janatha Party" DrSarath Amunugama has  tendered  his resignation  from his post.Dr.Amunugama has formally informed his decision to the Party  leader Dilith Jayaweera it has been reported.

However Dr .Amunugama has not given a specific  reason for his resignation.Mawbima Janatha Party has recently signed a Policy Agreement with several Political Parties in Colombo to launch a new political Movement "Sarvajana Balaya".

 

A Female Estate Worker Has Died Due To A Tree

 A 46 year old female Estste worker has died and two other estate workera were injured and hospitalized after a huge tree had fallen on them whilst putting fertilizer to tea cultivation at Opatha estate sector in Kahawatte area today (28).The tree had fallen as a result of  a strong wind it has been reported.

The deceased was identified as 46 year old Thamil chelvi.
