Founder Of Sarvodaya Movement Dr A,T Ariyaratne Passed Away

The founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka Dr.A.T Ariyaratne has passed away at the age of 92 years.


Born on 05th of November 1931 Dr.Ariyaratne began his career as a high school teacher in Nalanda Collage . He  has conducted the first Shramadana Camp in 1958  which lead to the establishment of the largest non government Organization Sarvodaya Movement.He is  recognized worldwide due to.his meditation  and family gathering programmes.

 

Former UNP MP and Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma Passed Away

 One of the Controversial figures in Sri Lankan Politics Former MP Of the United National Party(UNP) and Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma has passed away yesterday(16) due to an electrocution at his home in Mathugama ,Kalutara district.


The former MP who had recently made his own grave had electrocuted when attempting to join two electrical circuits it has been reported.He was pronounced as dead whilst admitting to the Nagoda Hospital.He was served as the Deputy Minister of Wild life few years back.

Two Females Died And Two Injured Due To A Motor Car Accident

 Two females have died and two others were critically injured  and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in veering off the road and colliding with a Tree near the Gana Devi Kovil at Bandarawela Main road  yesterday(14).A 70 year old fale and her daughter in law have died from this acvcident and  The father and daughter were critically injured due to the accident.


The injured were admitted to the Badulla Teaching Hospital for treatmdnt.
