Two Arrested In Possession Of 10,600 Capsules

 Two persons were arrested in possession of 10,600 Pregabalin Capsules use to treat nerve pains and Epilepsy during a joint search operation  carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police Special Task Force at Mihintale and Kattukarayankudirippu areas in Thalaimannar area today(14).

Three Teanagers Were Drowned In Kalutara River

 Three Students Two females and one male had drowned whilst swimming in the Kalutara River Lagoon this evening(14) according to the Police.


The victims who were of the ages 16,17 and 18 years had been identified as the residents of Kalutara,Payagala and Dodangoda areas .The Bodies of the victims  are currently lying at the  Nagoda hospital it has been reported .

Electricity Board Submitted A New Ellectricity Tariff Revision Proposal

The Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB) had submitted  the new  Electricity tarrif revision proposal to the Public Utilities Commission as stated earlier according to the CEB.

The new Electricity tarrif revision proposal submitted to the Public Utilities Commission had proposed to reduce the  electricity tariff imposed recently it has been reported.The proposal.will be made public as well.the Board has anmounced.

Deadline To Obtain Tax Identification Number To Be Extended -IRD

 The deadline to obtain the  Tax Identification Number(TIN)  which every citizen of the country   over 18 years of age need to be obtained on or after 01st of January 2024 likely to be extended according to the  Inland Revanue Department (IRD).


The tax scheduled to be  imposed on individuals with an annual income of Rs.1.2  million under the TIN system is also likely to be reduced  the Department has stated.Those who are fail to obtain the TIN will face a penalty of Rs.50,000 according to the Inland Revanue Department .

Two Persons Arrested In Possession Of A Fake Gemstone

 Police had arrested two persons in possession of a Fake Gemstone in Mawathagama area ((Kirunagala District ) yesterday (12) diring the islandwide anti narcotic operation "Yukthiya"currenly underway.


According to the Police thetwo suspects were arrested in possession of "Maranchi" synthetic  gemstone commonly known as fake gem.The two suapects had attempted to offer a bribe of  Rs.150,000 to the Police seeking of  their release Police had stated.
