A 28 Year Old Matron Of A Child Center Remanded Over A Death Of A Boy

 A 28 year old Matron attached to a Child Protection Centre In Kalmunai area (Eastern Province ) has been remanded until today (04)  by the Batticaloa Magistrate Court  over the death of a 17 year old boy at the center.

The suspect who is a resident of Uppuveli area in Trincomalee District was arrested over the death  of the boy who was beaten to death by the Matron it has been reported.The deceased was sent to the  Child Protection Center by the court over a robbery.

A New Tourist Data Base Has Been Introduced

 The Tourism Development Authority has introduced a Tourism Data System for the  Tourists visiting the Island according to the chairman of the Authority Priyantha Fernando

.

Through this Data base an updated details of tourists can be obtained the Tourism Authority had stated.

181 Medical Students Who Went Missing In Hanthana Mountain Rescued

 Around 181 Medical Students attached to the  Faculty of Medicine in Ragama who were  reported as  missing during the hike in  the Hanthana Mountain range ( South West Of Kandy)  had been rescued by Armed forces.

The group of students were climbing the 3800 feet high Mountain which have four routes when they lost their way and stopped connunication with others it has been reported.

Arny and Police had rescued the group.of Medical students who lost their way due to a havy fog prevailed in the area during the six hour long rescue operation .The rescued students were brought back in two batches and four students including two females and two males were admitted to the Kandy General Hospital after complaining that   they were not feeling well it has been reported.

A Person Died -Two Injured Due To A Vehicle Accident

 A person was killed and two others were critically injured and hospitalized afer the Concrete mixture truck they were travelling in toppled over the   100 feet deep precipice  at dibulana area on Welimada-Masapanna road last evening (02) according to the  Uva-Paranagama police.

Accordingly the driver of the  truck was killed and two others were critically injured and admitted to the Badulla Teaching and  Welimada hospitals for treatment .

The deceased was 46 year old resident of Bibila area it has been reported.Uva-Paranagama Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

One Tusker Had Received Several Gun Shot Wounds

 The Wild Elephant with One Tusk  known as "One Tusker" located  in Kalawewa National Wildlife park  in Namal Uyana  is currently being injured as a result of receiving several gunshot wounds recently it has been reported.

The Veterinary doctors in North western  wild life office are  treating the injured elephant at present.An inquiry is being held regarding the shooting of One tusker it has been reported 

Three Parliamentarians Were Banned From Attending Parliament

 Parliament has banned Three MP's including a,female  State Minister for attending Parliamentary sessions for one month over the brawl  they were involved in  at the Parliament premises recently .

Accordingly Parliament had banned State Minister Diana Gamage and the two  MP'S of  main opposition Samagijanabalawegaya (SJB) party from attending the Parliament for one month period. 

The recommendation made by the  Ethics and privileges commitee of the Parliament  in this regard had  been approved in Parliament yesterday (01) with a majority of 56 votes .During the vote 56 were voted in favour of the recommendation and one MP Representing Tamil National Alliance voted against it .
