A Female Was Killed Due To A Wild Ellephant Attack

 A 60 year old female was killed this morning (15) due to a Wild Elephant attack  in yudaganawa area at Hingurakgoda according to the Police.

The deceased were 


on her way to work at the time of the incident  it has been revealed .

Consumer Affairs,Authority Sealed A Hidden Stock Of White Sugar

The Consumer Affairs Authority had sealed a stock of 270,000 Kilo grammes,of white suger hidden in a,store at Paliyagoda area(Western province) until the end of the  inquiry currently being held over the incident .


The hidden stock of white sugar has been recovered during an inspection made by the officials of Consumer Affairs authority it has been reported.


 

Cabinet Decision Need To Appoint An Interim Cricket Board-President's Media Division-Sports Minister Denied The Report

cabinet has decided  to recommend a Cabinet approval prior to appointing an  Interim Cricket Board in future the President's Media Division has announced .


However Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe has denied  the statement made by President's Media division saying a cabinet approval will be  needed  to appoint an Interim Cricket Board in future and told the media that no such decision has taken by the Cabinet.

Meanwhile President Ranil Wikramasinghe has given powers to the Cabinet sub committee headed by the Minister of Foreign affairs,Ali Sabry regarding taking a decision on the International Cricket Council's decision to suspend the membership of Sri Lanka cricket.

Supreme Court Declared Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Gotabaya Rajapakshe And Their Brother Basil As Responsible For The Current Economic Cisis

By declaring an  historic judgment The Supreme court of Sri Lanka had yesterday (14)declared Eight Persons including  Former Presidents Mahinda,Rajapakshe,Gotabaya Rajapakshe and their Brother former Minister Of Finance Basil Rajapakshe and the  Monetary Board of Sri Lanka Central Bank as responsible for the current economic crisis prevailing in the country .


The Landmark judgment has been given by the Supreme court after taking into consideration two Fundemental rights petitions filed by Professor Mahim Mendis and the former Chairman of the SriLanka,Chamber of Commerce Chandra,Jayaratne requesting to take An action against those who are responsible for the Current Economic crisis of the country.Accordingly the The judge panel of the Supreme Court headed by the Chief Justice Jayantha  Jayasuriya had announced that the  former Presidents Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Gotabaya Rajapakshe ,Former Minister Basil Rajapakshe ,The Monetary Board of SriLanka Central Bank ,Former governors of the Central Bank Ajith Nivad Cabral,Professor W.D Lakshman the member of Central Bank Monetrary Committee Samantha Kumarasinghe,Former Secretary to the President P.B Jayasundare ,Former Secretary to the Ministry of Finance S.R Atygalle were responsible for creating current economic crisis and failed  to take any action to resolve it.

The Judge panel however dismissed the two fundemental rights petitions filed by the petitionrs citing they were expired and ordered the  respondents to pay Rs.150,000 each to the petitioners as  legal costs without ordering respondents to pay compensations.for the damage they have done to the economy.

The Judge panel has also stated that the respondents were directly responsible for breaking the trust of  the public and   violating the people's fundemental rights .
