NBRO Extended Landslide Warning Issued To Five Districts

 The National Building Research Organization (NBRO)  had yesterday (07)  extended  it"s early landslide warning issued to five districts  until this evening (08).


Accordingly the yellow landslide warning issued to Galle,Kalutara ,Kandy,Ratnapura and Kegalle districts had been extended until 4 p.m today (08).NBRO had urged the public to pay attention to pre landslide signs like developing cracks on the ground ,In the floor or walls of buildings constructed on slope areas  of those Districts .

Import Restrictions Imposed On All Vehicles To Be Removed

 The Import restrictions imposed on Importing all Vehicles excluding Private vehicles  will be removed completely by the end of this year according to Ministry of Finance.


The heads of  the Finance Ministry had informed the Parliamentary Select committee on state finance in this regard when the Committee had questioned on this .

The Parliamentary Select Committe on State Finance had met in Parliament yesterday (05) under the Patronage of it's Chairman MP ,Dr.Harsha De Silva.

Health Authorities Halted Supplying Meals For Batticaloa Hospital Patients

 Health Authorities in Batticaloa(Eastern Province) had halted supplying meals to patients In the district  as the funds need to be paid for the food suppliers of the hospitals are high as a result of awarding tenders to supply food at exorbitant  rates  the Health Ministry had stated.


Due to the high prices need to pay for the food suppliers the payments need to pay for food suppliers  are overdue for several months the Ministry had stated.According to the Health Ministry of Eastern Province the relevent rates cannot be paid for the food suppliers.


98 Persons Affected Due To Heavy Showers

 Around 98 persons belongs to 28 families are being affected due to the torrential rain experienced in many parts of the island upto yesterday (04) according to the Disaster Management Center.

Out of these familes


around  50prsons belongs to 15 families are from Kalutara district in western province it has been revealed.26 houses in Kalutara district were destroyed fue to adversw weather conditions 

Litro Gas Prices Increased

 Sri Lanka"s main gas provider Litro Gas Company had increased the Prices of 12,5 Kg ,5 KG and 2.3 KG Gas cylinders with effect from midnight tonight(04).


Accordingly the prices of 12.5 KG,5 KG and 2.5 KG Gas cylinders had been increased by Rs.145(new price Rs.3127),Rs.58(newprice-1256) and Rs.26 (new price-587) respectively the Company had announced.
