Price Of Imported Milk Powder Slashed -Trade Minister

The Price of Imported Milk Powder will be reduced by Rs.200 per a,Kilo Gramme Of Milk Powdet with effect from 15 th of May the Minister of Trade Nalin Fernando had stated.

Accordingly the Milk Powder Importers had agreed to reduce the Price Of Imported Milk Powder following the discussions held in this regard Minister had stressed.

However the Milk Powder Importers Association had stated that although they have agreed to slash the price of Imported Milk powder it will be reduced from June not from 15 th of May as the Minister had stated

Prices Of 22 and 24 Carrot Gold Prices Reduced

The Prices of 22 carrot and 24 carrot Gold pounds had been reduced by Rs.2000 and Rs.4000 respectively since yesterday (12) according to the All Ceylon Jewellers Association.

Accordingly the new price of the 22 Carrot gold pound is Rs.157,125 and 24 Carror gold pound is Rs.172,500 the Association has stated.

A 23 Year Old Female Was Killed Whilst Camping In Koslanda

A 23 year old female was killed and a 22 year old male was critically injured and hospitalized due to a Wild Elephant attack whilst camping near the Diyaluma,waterfalls at Koslanda,area (Badulla district )last morning (12) according to the Police.

The deceased and the injured were camping near the Diyaluma,waterfalls with a group of persons at the time of the incident .Police and the residents,of the area later chased away the Wild elephant who was roaming in the area for sometime.The deceased was a resident of Matara district and the injured is a resident of Wariyapola,area it has been revealed.
