The Constitutional Council has today (28) announced that not a single member of the National Elections Commission had informed the Council about resigning from the Commission up to now .Some media outlets had reported that the member of the National Elections Commission Mrs.P.S.M Charles had resigned from the Elections Commission ,But up to now she hasn't informed the Council on the resignation the Constitutional Council has stated ,
The President of the Constitutional Council Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane has today (28) stated if a member of the Elections Commission has resigned further action will be taken after being informed on the resignation .

Although the regulator Public Utilities Commission had refused to approve daily Power cuts suggested by the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB) ,The CEB had informed the Commission that the scheduled daily power cuts will be implemented as usual due to the lack of resources available with the Electricity Board to avoid these cuts.

Two employees attached to a Tea factory at Kurunuduwatte in Wetakedeniya (Cemtral Province) had been injured and hospitalized due to a fire occurred at the factory in wee hours of this morning (27) according to the Police.The Tea factory had been completely destroyed due to the fire it has been reported.
