 A Landslide threat is being  occurred in Four districts of the Island due to the heavy showers experiencing at present according to the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) .

Accordingly landslide threat is being occurred in Kandy,Kurunagala,Matale and Nuwara-Eliya areas .Those who are living in hill and slope areas of  those Districts  need to be cautioned on Landslide signs the NBRO has stated .

A Fire At A Thread Making Company Destroyed Large Quantitiy Of Thread

 An electric appliances and a large quantity of Thread at a Thread making factory located in Moronthuduwa in Wadduwa area (Western Province) had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in the factory yesterday (24) according to Wadduwa Police.

Two fire Ambulances with fire fighters  attached to the Kalutara Urban Council had doused the  fire with the help of Residents in the area and Wadduwa Police ,The loss incurred due to the fire estimated as more than Rs.10 million.

309 Priosn Inamtes Released On Presidential Pardon

 To mark the Christmas which  falls today (25) 309 prisoners have been given Presidential Pardon and scheduled to be released today according to the Prison authorities ,

Accordingly 306 Male prison inmates and 03 female Prison inmates selected from Prisons Island wide  had received presidential pardon .

Impriosned Inter University Students Federation Convener Has Been Hospitalized

 The imprisoned convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF ) Wasantha Mudalige had been admitted to the Prison Hospital due to an illness it has been reported ,The reason behind his hospital admission has not yet been revealed .

Mudalige had been arrested by the Police on the 19th of August this year over organizing protest campaign and he will remains in prison until 17th of January 2023. ,   Ministry of Defensed  has authorized the Police to  detain him  and  interrogate for 90 days under the terrorism prevention act .
