Two Tourism Zones Released From Power Cuts

 There will be no power cut in Southern Province and Ella Tourism Zones with effect from tomorrow(01) according to the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekate . .Home | Ella Apartments

All Tourist zones will be released from Power cuts with effect from 15th of December once the new power unit of the Norochchalai Coal Power Plant will be added to the national power grid  form 15th of December Minister has stated .Thereafter the two hour and twenty minutes  long daily  Power cut schedule  will be reduced to one hour it has been reported .

Third Secretary Of The Sri Lankan Embassy In Oman Arrested

The suspect had arrived in Katunayake International Airport this evening from Muscat in Oman .Officials had leveled sexual harassment  human smuggling and selling Sri Lankan maids in Oman  charges against the suspect it has been revealed .CID Officials are questioning the suspect at the Airport .

 A 22 year old female had committed suicide by jumping to the Victoria reservoir according to the Police, accordingly the deceased female who was a resident of    Rangala in Theldeniya arrea had committed suicide over a love affair,

A 17-Year-Old Boy Drowned In Aberdeen Waterfall

 a 17-year-old boy has drowned and disappeared whilst bathing in Aberdeen Water fall at Norton Bridge (Central Province).


The drowned boy identified as Krishnan Vinushan from Bagawanthalawa area had faced this incident when he along with a group of his friends came to Aberdeen fall to celebrate a birthday party it has been revealed. Ginigtahhena Police along with the residents of the area have launched a search mission in search of the missing boy .

Cabinet Approved The Recommendations Made to Restructure The CEB

 Cabinet has today (28) approved the recommendations proposed by the Commitee on restructuring the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) .


Minister Of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare has stated in a Twitter message posted today that the Electricity Reforms Bill will be drafted within a month to begin the unbundling process of CEB and work will progress on a rapid timeline for the necessary approval of Parliament.
