President To Reduce The Number Of Local Council Members
The number of Local government body officials will be reduced to 4000 from 8000 in view of changing the current political structure according to President Ranil Wikramasinghe
As the majority of the general public have rejected the current political system there' s need to create the political change they are demanding the President has stressed .
Police Arrested Six Persons Attended A Rally In Galle Face
Police officers attached to Colombo central Police division had arrested six persons who had attended a rally held in Galle face green in Colombo this evening (09) to commemorate the protesters who had died during the popular uprising occurred three months back .
However Police officers had failed to explain the reason which caused these arrests .The protesters who had gathered at Galle face green this evening to commemorate those who had died during the Galle face protest were removed by the Police and afterwards the protesters had gathered at Galle Face park .
Police officers were then taken in to custody the six protesters it has been revealed .

A 15 Year Old Boy Was Drowned In Galle Face Sea Area
A 15 Year old boy has drowned whilst bathing in sea area of Galle face in Colombo today(08) according to the Colombo Fort Police .
The victim had been drifted away due to the rough sea waves when he was bathing with another three boys and he has died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital by the Police life saving guards who had saved him.The deceased was a resident of Colombo-12 it has been reported.
