The All Ceylon Canteen Owners Association has decided to increase
the prices of Kottu and Rice Pack by Rs.10 due to the price hike of Food
ingredients and the Social security tax according to the President of
the Association Asela Sampath .
However the Prices of Hoppers and other flour based products as well as Plain tea will bot increased he has stated .
Prices of all locally manufactured Milk Powder products had been increased by Rs.100 and Rs.230 (full cream milk powder ) with effect from midnight last night (04) according to the local Milk Powder Companies.
Accordingly 400 gramme pack of locally manufactured Full Cream Milk Powder has been increased by Rs.100 from Rs.850 to Rs.950 and price of the one Kilo gramme Full Cream Milk Powder has been increased by Rs.230 from Rs,2120 to Rs.2350 .
Meanwhile some locally manufactured one liter liquid Milk Packs has been increased by Rs,30 from Rs.430 to Rs.460 according to market sources.
Although
Fuel Distributors have stated that they are distributing fuel to every
Fuel station ,Many Fuel stations in Colombo and suburbs were without
fuel since last morning it has been reported.Queues had seen in Fuel
stations which had enough stocks of fuel .
Fuel distributors who had withdrawn from fuel distribution work since last morning(04) due to a Commission problem had resumed fuel distribution since this morning (05) as the Minister of Power and Energy had solved their problems .
According to the Fuel Distributors Association it began ordering and distributing Fuel as usual this morning .
Two of the major Flour importing Companies in the Country had increased the Price of a Kilo Grammes of Wheat flour by Rs.13 it has been reported .
Accordingly the Price of a Kilo gramme of Wheat flour has been increased to Rs.413 from Rs.400 .
Authorities of the Peradeniya University has lodged a complaint to.the Peradeniya Police over a disappearance of A third year student attached to the Engineering faculty since last morning (03).
The 25 year old student from Ganemulla area who has lived in the University hostal.was missing since yesterday the University authorities have complained .
Peradeniya Police had launched an investigation in search of the missing student .
