Iran Agreed To Supply Urea Fertilizer To Sri Lanka

 Iran has agreed to supply Urea fertilizer to the Sri Lanka's Agriculture Sector according to the Government.

Iranian Ambassador to Sri Lanka  had officially agreed to supply Urea fertilizer to Sri Lanka as per the request made in this regard by the Sri Lanka's Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amraweera yesterday (29).

According to the Minister Mahinda Amraweera a Cabinet paper will be submitted to the Cabinet after holding discussions with the Treasury and the Ministry of Finance to import Urea  fertilizer for next year Minister has stressed . 

Payments Made To A Petrol Ship Anchored At Colombo Harbor-Ministry Of Power

 Payments had been made to a Ship carrying 36,000 Metric tones of Octane-92 Petrol anchored at the  Colombo Harbor according to the Ministry Of Power and Energy .


Accordingly unloading of the Petrol stocks from the ship had begun today .However  another two Diesel ships and a Petrol ship are being  anchored at the Colombo harbor further due to not making payments for them it has been reported.

Two Hours And Twenty Minutes Long Power Cut Approved For Tomorrow(29)

 The Public Utilities Commission had given permission to the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB)  to implement two hours and twenty minutes long island wide power cut for tomorrow (29) due to the fuel shortage faced by CEB to generate power.


Accordingly one hour  long power cut will be implemented in many areas during the day time and one hour and twenty minutes long power cut during the night

Socialist Students Union Had Lodged A Complaint Against The Police

 The Socialist Students Union had today (28) lodged a complaint to the National Police Commission against Sri Lanka Police Department  over the brutal attack launched by the Police officers against the protesters who participated in the Protest march that started at lipton Circus last week.


Police officers had arrested the protesters in an illegal manner the complaint has stated.

An Ugandan National Who Had Swallowed 17 Cocaine Pills Had Been Arrested

 The Officers attached to the Anti narcotic division of the Sri Lanka Customs had today (28) arrested a 43-year-old Ugandan national who had arrived in Sri Lanka after swallowing 17 Cocaine pills   ,at the Katunayake International Airport. 


The suspect who had arrived in Katunayake Airport from Qatar was admitted to the hospital where the Cocaine pills  he had swallowed were taken out from  his stomach.The market value of the Cocaine pills recovered from the suspect is estimated as  Rs.12 million 

The Anti Narcotic Control Division of the Sri Lanka customs had handed over the suspect to the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau for further  investigations.
