Airport Customs Arrested Five Sri Lankans With A Stock Of Illegal Cigarette Cartons

 The Airport Customs officers had yesterday (26)arrested five Sri  Lankans who were arrived im Sri Lanka from Dubai via Muscat City in Oman with a stock of illegal cigarette sticks in procession worth around Rs one million .



The stock of 810 Cigarette cartons taken in to custody in procession of the suspects had secretly stored inside their  luggage's according to the customs officers, The five suspects who are residents of Maligawatte in Colombo ,.Moratuwa and Chilaw  areas  were arrested when attempting to leave the Airport  .

Airport Customs officers are currently working on to confiscate the stock of Cigarettes taken in to custody and impose fines to the suspects . 

Former MP Ranan Ramanayake Accepted A Goodwill Ambassador Post

 The Actor turned Politician Ranjan Ramanayake who was released from the Prison on a Presidential Pardon yesterday (26) has accepted a Goodwill Ambassador Post offered to him by the Government to Promote welfare of the Foreign employees it has been reported.

Ramanayake who is former MP attached to the Opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB) Party had been released on Presidential Pardon yesterday  whilst serving a four year Prison sentience over the charges of contempt of court .

The Former   MP  had received a conditional pardon from the President Ranil Wikramasinghe it has been revealed.

Airport Customs Arrested A Passenger With A Stock Of Illegally Brough Gold

 Airport Customs officers had arrested a Sri Lankan Passenger arrived in  a Sri Lankan Airlines Flight  from Paris ,France in wee hours of this morning (27)   at Katunayake International Airport with  a stock of illegally brought Gold weighing 2414.6 Grammes  .

The passenger who is a resident of Malabe area in Colombo was arrested whilst attempting to leave the Airport .He had returned the Country after working in Paris around 10 years it has  been reported .The estimated value of the stock of Gold detained is around Rs.3.6 million it ahs been revealed .Airport Customs Officers are due to confiscate the stock of Gold  after investigating on it .

Another 114 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterdsg(25)

 Another 114 Corona positives and 02 Coron deaths had been reported in thr country yesterday (25) according tonthe Epodeniology Unit.

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives reported in the country so far had risen to 669,581 and the total number of Corona deaths had risen to 16,675 the Epidemeology unit has stated .

At the moment 1739 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals and under home care system 

Fuel Shortage Has Re Emerged Island Wide

 A Fuel shortage has   re emerged   Island wide as  a result of the zero supply of Diesel and Petrol stocks to Fuel stations according to the Ceylon Petroleum Private Bowser Owner's Association .

Due to  not receiving enough stocks Petrol  and Diesel stocks to Fuel     ,Several Fuel stations had been closed down it has been revealed . Petrol and Diesel queues are are being formed in  front of many fuel stations island wide these days the Bowser Owners Association  has stated .
