Prices Of Laugfs Gas To Reduce Further

Prices of Laugfs Gas will be reduced further from next month according to the Chairman of Laugfs Gas Company W.K,H Wagapitiya .

Accordingly the Prices of all varieties of Laugfs Gas will be reduced by similar amounts as the recent price reduction he has stated .At present the 12.5 KG Laugfs Gas Cylinder is being sold for Rs.5800 ,The 5 KG Gas Cylinder for Rs.2320 and 25KG Gas Cylinder for Rs.928.

Three Died Due To The Toppling Of A Tractor

Three females had died and 18 others had been injured and hospitalized after the tractor they were travelling in toppled over to a precipice at Glakande area in Muttur (Eastern Province ) today (20) .

The injured were admitted to the Muttur hospital .The deceased and the injured were residents of Seru nagar it has been revealed .The group of persons had met with the accident whilst on the way to Kottiyar Temple .

A Control Price For Eggs Announced

As the Prices of Egg are on the rise ,Consumer Affairs Authority had issued an extra ordinary Gazette notification today (20) directing a maximum retail price for Eggs .

According to the Gazette Notification the maximum retail price of a White Egg should be Rs.43 and the Price of a Brown Egg should be Rs.45 .Price of an Egg had been increased to Rs.63 recently .

Sapaugaskande Oil Refinery Resumed Operations -Minister Of Energy

The Sapugaskande Oil Refinery which had been shut down due to the Crude Oil shortage had resumed it's functions this evening (20) after the arrival of a ship carrying 100,000 metric tons of Crude oil according to the Minister Of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare ,

According to the Minister unloading of the Crude oil from that ship is currently underway and another Ship with 120,000 Metric Tons of Crude oil is scheduled to be arrived at Colombo harbor next week .Through these stocks Sapaugaskande Oil Refinery can be functioned with full capacity for 40 days he had stressed .
