Supreme Court Extended The Travel Ban Imposed On Former Sri Lankan Premier And Finance Minister
According to the motion filed at the Supreme Court on 13th of July ,the petitioners had named the former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakshe and Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cavral as respondents of the current economic crisis prevailing in the country ,
Police Wants Galle Protesters To Leave From Galle Face Before 5 P.M This Friday
Colombo Fort Police have today (03) informed the group of Protesters who still remain in the Galle Face Protest site to move away from the areas they are holding and to remove all unauthorized structures and cultivations at the site before 5 p.m on this Friday (05) afternoon .
A legal action will be taken against the Protesters who are not following the Police order. Police had informed the Protesters .Police had also advised the Protesters to act according to the law and without disturbing the peace of the Public .Galle Face protesters are staying in the area since 09th of April this year
Teachers Union Leader Joseph Stalin Was Arrested
One of the the leaders of Galle Face protest the general secretary of Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin was arrested by the Colombo Fort Police this evening (03) over his involvement in a Protest Campaign by violating a court order .
Police officers attached to the Colombo Fort Police station had arrested the Union leader Satlin at the headquarters of the Ceylon Teachers Union "Guru Madura in Colombo Fort and later taken him to the Fort Police station .Stalin was arrested over holding a protest march at Bank of Ceylon Road in Colombo Fort on 28th of May by violating a Court order which was issued against holding protests in the area .
Police had later announced the general secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union was arrested due to his failure to appear before the court regarding violating the court order and organized a protest march on 28th of May .

Former Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva Freed From Bribery Charges
After been cleared from a bribery case .Former Minister of Ports ,Shipping and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva who had resigned from his post earlier ,is scheduled to be sworn in his Ministerial Portfolio tomorrow (02) before President Ranil Wikramasinghe .
Former Minister Silva had resigned from his Ministerial Portfolio on 06th of July to pave the way for an independent investigation carried out on the charges leveled against him for demanding a bribe from a Japanese company /The Investigations commission which conducted the inquiry had handed over it's report to the President's secretary Saman Ekanayake last Saturday (30) and through the report the commission had freed the former Minister from bribery allegations .
