Fuel Allowance Of MP's To Increase By An Exorbitant Amount

At a time the Country is facing a fuel crisis ,Government in Sri Lanka has decided to increase the fuel allowance of Parliamentarians by an exorbitant amount according to the Parliamentary sources,

Accordingly the fuel allowance of MP's in outstation areas is due to increase by nearly Rs,200,000 and the fuel allowance of MP's in Colombo and suburbs is due to be increased by Rs.100,000 the Sources have added .

MP's are due to receive the increased fuel allowance with their salaries of this month it has been reported .

Police Arrested A Person Who Stolen The President's Flag From

Police Officers at Wella veediya Police in Colombo had today (29) arrested the person who had stolen the President's flag at the President's House after protesters' had stormed in to the house on 09th of July.

The man who had stolen the president's flag and used as his Bed sheet had been arrested by the Police after he had surrendered to the Police this morning .The suspect is a trade union activist the Police have said .

No School Holidays For Schools In This August

August School Holidays will not be given to Schools Island wide this year to cover the lessons missed during previous months as a result of the closures of schools Minister Of Education Susil Premjayantha has stated .

Accordingly schools will be held continuously until the end of November he has stated ,At present Schools are being held three days per a week due to the current fuel crisis .

Another 143 Corona Positives And 05 Corona Deaths Reported In The Country

Another 143 new Corona positives had been identified in the country yesterday (28) ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives identified so far since the beginning of the pandemic to 665,543 according to the Epidemiology Unit .

Five more Corona deaths had been reported in the country yesterday ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,553 the Unit has stated .At the moment 845 Corona Positives are being treated at hospitals and at home it has been revealed .

Epidemiologists had requested the general public to wear a mask and adapt the Anti Corona health guidelines strictly these days when going to a public place to avoid contacting the disease .
