Main Opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya Requested Premier To Covene The Parliament
The main opposition SamagI Jana Balawegaya (SJB)Party had today (23) requested Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardane to convene the Parliament on this Monday (25) to debate on the Military attack taken place against the Peaceful protesters at Gota Go Gama in Galle face and current situation in the country .
Station Masters Commenced A 48 Hour Long Strike
All the station masters attached to the Sri Lanka Railways Department had commenced a 48 hour token strike from 6 p.m this evening (23) over the new Train ticket fare revision .
As the increased Prices of Train tickets are high Station Masters are demanding a fair revision of Train ticket fares .Sri Lanka Railways Department had announced that the Train ticket fares will be increased with effect from this evening ,However Station Masters had said they will be selling the Trian tickets at the old price .
President Instructed Officials To Issue Fuel To School Buses And Vans
President Ranil Wikramsinghe had today (23) instructed the relevant authorities to issue fuel to Vans and Buses transporting School Children from this evening through the Ceylon Transport Board (CTB) Depots.
As Schools are scheduled to be re opened from Monday (25 ) President directed officials to expedite the issuance of fuel for School vans/Buses and Public transport system .
All government and private schools which had been closed down on last week of June as a result of the paralyzing of the Public transport system are scheduled to be re opened this Monday and from next week School children are being asked to come to school only three days per week until further notice due to the current fuel crisis.
Accordingly Schools will be opened only on Mondays ,Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice and on Wednesdays and Fridays school children need to be studied through online the Ministry of Education had stated ,

Retired General Kamal Gunaratne Had Been Appointed As The Defense Ministry Secretary
President Ranil Wikramsinghe had re appointed retired General Kamal Gunaratne as the Secretary to the Ministry Of Defense .
He was first appointed to that post in 2019 by the former President Gotabahya Rajapakshe .
