Petrol Is Being Sold For Rs.2500 Per Liter In Puttalam

 A liter of Petrol is being sold for Rs.2500 in and around Puttalam District (North Western Province ) these days it has been reported ,


Although the price is high many are purchasing Petrol for that price due to the daily needs reports have stated ,Some barons in and around Puttalam District  are selling Petrol for higher prices secretly according to the Police ,

One Million Motorists Had Registered To Get New National Fuel Pass

One Million Motorists had been registered to get the new National Fuel pass introduced by the Minister Of Power and Energy by this evening (17) according to the Ministry .The Ministry had introduced the new telephone app to register for the new Fuel pass and within a day one million Motorists had registered their vehicles by using that facility it has been reported ,
 

Ceypetco And LIOC Had Reduced Fuel Prices

 According to the Price mechanism of Fuel introduced by the government Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) and Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC ) had reduced the Fuel Prices with effect from 10 p.m tonight (17) .


Accordingly Ceypetco had reduced the prices of a liter of Octane -92 petrol and Auto Diesel   by Rs.20 and the price of a liter of Octane -95 Petrol and Super Diesel by Rs.10 although there is a short supply ,

According to the new price reduction the Price of a liter of Octane -92 Petrol will be Rs.450 ,Price of a liter of Octane -95 Petrol will  be Rs.540 ,Price of a liter of Auto Diesel will be Rs.440 and the Price of a liter of Super Diesel will be Rs.510 it has been announced .

Lanka Indian Oil Company has also reduced their fuel prices from same amount as Ceypetco .

Long Queues Had Seen In Front Of Fuel Sheds Belongs To Ceypetco -No Distribution Has Taken Place

 Although Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare  had announced there will be a distribution of Fuel from state owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco)Fuel sheds , Long queues to  collect Petrol and Diesel had seen in  front of Ceypetco Fuel sheds in many areas throughout the island  it has been reported.


Until the next round of Distributing fuel is begins Minister Wijesekare had appealed the public not to be in queues of Fuel sheds .When next distribution of Fuel begins Fuel pass and last digit of the registration number of of Motorists are essential Ministry of Power and Energy has announced .

Meanwhile although Minister of Power had announced that a ship carrying 40,000 metric tons of diesel had arrived in the country ,no distribution of fuel  had taken place up to now and the Minister had today announced the Duesel ship is scheduled to be arrived in Colombo harbor within next few days ,

A Group Of Protesters Begun Fast Unto Death Campaign In Front Of Temple Trees

 Members of Inter university students federation (IUSF) had begun a fast unto death campaign with the support of  Galle Face protestors yesterday (15) in front of the Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees" demanding the   resignation of Acting President Ranil Wikramasinha and the government ,


Protesters had named the protest site in front of Temple trees as "No dealgama ",

Supreme Court Had Issued An Interim Order Preventing Five Including Former Premier Mahinda Rajpakshe

 Supreme Court had today (15) issued an interim order against Former Prime Minister MP Mahinda Rajapakshe and Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakshe preventing them Going abroad without the permission of the court until 28th of this Month .


The five bench Judge board headed by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya had issued this Interim order after proceeding the petition  filed at court by three persons including social activist Chandra Jayaratne and former Swimmer Julian Bolling requesting to issue an interim order preventing five officials including Basil and Mahinda Rajapakshe from going abroad .

The other three respondents mentioned  by the petition,  former Central Bank governors Ajith Nivad Cabral and Professor W.D Lakshman as well as the former Secretary to the Ministry Of Finance S.R Atygala had informed  the court through their lawyers they will not  going abroad as ordered by the Supreme Court ,

The petitioners who filed this motion had requested the Supreme Court to investigate on  those who are responsible for the current economic crisis and take an action against them ,

Prime Minister Had Sworn In As Acting President

 Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had sworn in as acting Executive President of Sri Lanka this noon before the Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya .


Acting President had sworn in accordance to the provisions of the Constitution and a new President is scheduled to be appointed on 20th of July through a vote in Parliament .
