Former Finance Miniter Basil Rajapakshe Returned Home After An Unsuccessful Effort To Fly USA

Former Finance Minister Basil Rajapakshe who  had arrived in Katunayake International Airport this morning (12) to leave for United States Of America (USA) via Dubai  had returned home due to the protests launched against him by Immigration/Emigration officials and other local passengers  at the Airport .

The former Finance Minister who is also the brother of President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe had arrived in Katunayake Airport in wee hours of this morning to leave for Dubai from Emirates flight scheduled at 3.15 a.m and from there to United states .

When he was awaiting at the Silk Route passage , Local passengers had shouted demanding to remove  him from the Airport .Thereafter an Immigration Emigration Officials too had protested against his presence and As a result former Finance Minister had returned home it has  been reported .  

Price Of Bread And Other Bakery Products Increased From Midnight Tonight (12)

 The price of Bread and Bakery Products will be increased by Rs.20 and Rs.10 respectively  with effect from midnight tonight (12) as a result of the increased price of Wheat flour according to All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association .

Accordingly the price of a loaf of 450 Gramme Bread will be increased to Rs.180-Rs.210 the Association had stated ,

Prima Flour Company had increased the Price of a Kilo Gramme of Wheat flour by Rs.34 to Rs.300 it has been announced ,

A Ship Carrying 40,000 Metric Tons Of Urea Fertilizer Had Arrived In Colombo

 A ship carrying 40,000 metric tons of Urea fertilizer had arrived in Colombo Harbor yesterday (10) and it was handed over to the Sri Lankan government by the Indian High Commissioner in Sri  Lanka Gopal Baglay  .

The unloading of this stock of Urea is currently underway and from tomorrow (12) the stock will be distributed among farmers throughout the island it has been reported ,

The quality of this stock of Urea had been tested by three International laboratories and confirmed as in good quality  before being unloaded , 

President Gotabhaya Rajpakshe Is Still In The Country -Speaker
