A Tense Satiation Occurred Yesterday (24) When Petrol Sheds Refused To Prioritize Health Workers When Issuing Fuel

 A tense situation had occurred amongst Health personal attached to Government Hospitals yesterday (24) as Fuel stations in the country had not taken steps to issue fuel for them as stated by Government ,




Government had announced Friday as the day for Hospital employees to get fuel for their vehicles from Petrol sheds and sheds too should prioritize when issuing fuel that day to Health sector Government has stated .However around 82 Petrol sheds allocated to issue fuel to Health sector employees did not receive enough fuel to issue for those employees Petrol shed owners had stated ,

As Health sector employees had stayed in long queues yesterday to get fuel ,Treatments  of  hospitals they are working  had paralyzed according to the Hospital sources .

Ministry Of Education Instructed Schools On How To Conduct Classes Next Week

Ministry Of Education has today (25) instructed the School principals to  conduct schools which not have transport difficulties as usual from next week and those Schools which have transport difficulties three days per week .


If a student or a teacher of a school did not attend the  school due to transport difficulties their absence should not be considered as a leave Ministry of Education had advised the Principals .On line classes need to be conducted For those students who cannot attend schools due to the Transport difficulties the Ministry had further stated ,

Non Arrival Of Fuel Ships Caused Severe Fuel Shortage In The Country -Fuel To Be Supplied Only For Essential Services

 Government has decided to restrict the fuel supply to  essential services due to the non arrival of Petrol and Diesel ships to the country as scheduled  according to Minister of Power and Energy Kachana Wijesekare .Due to the Fuel shortage faced by the country the limited stock of fuel available at Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco)  will be supplied to prioritizing  Public Transport , Power plants ,Hospitals and Industries until arrival of fuel ships to the country the Minister has stated .


As the Petrol and Diesel are scheduled to be distributed to a selected Fuel stations in the country with limited quantity from next week Public is being advised not to stay in fuel  queues from next week he has further stated ,

Litro Gas To Suspend The Distribution Of LP Gas Until 06th of July

 Litro Gas Company cannot supply the  Domestic LP  Gas cylinders for the  public until 06th of July due to the Gas shortage faced by the company   it has been announced.


Two Ships carrying 3500 Metric tons of Domestic LP Gas each are scheduled to be arrived in Colombo harbor on 05th and 12th of July the Litro Gas Company has stated .If the first ship arrived in 05th of July as scheduled the distribution of Gas will commence from 06th of July Litro Gas has stressed  ,

Litro Gas Company had stopped the distribution of LP Gas on 04th of June due to the Gas shortage ,However long queues can be seen in front of Gas outlets island wide .

Arrival Of Petrol SAhip To Be Futher delayed -Miniterof Power

 The arrival of a Ship carrying 40,000 Metric tones of Petrol which is scheduled to be reached Colombo harbor today (24) will be further delayed according to the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare ,



Earlier Minister Wijesekare  had stated that the Ship is due to arrive today ,The Petrol ship is due to supply 40,000 metric tons of Octane-92 Petrol to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation  the Minister has stressed .However he didn't mention the name of the fuel supplier and the due  due  country ship is due ,
