Ceylon Electricity Board To Impose Two And Half Hour Long Power Cuts For Next Two Days

 Public Utilities Commission had given approval to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to impose two and half hour power cut for tomorrow (24) and the day after (25) the Commission had announced.


Public Utilities Commission had given approval to  impose a two hour power cut on this Sunday (26) as well the Commission has stated .

Ministry Of Power To Increase The Fuel Prices Again Tomorrow (24) With Record Prices

 The Ministry Of Power and Energy is due to increase the Prices of Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene Oil by record prices in accordance to the new Price mechanism with effect from midnight tomorrow  (24) it has been announced.


Accordingly, a Liter of Octane-92 petrol is expected to be increased to Rs.74  , Octane-95 Petrol to increase by Rs.78,A Liter of Auto Diesel by Rs.56 ,A liter of Super Diesel by Rs.65 and  A Liter of Kerosene Oil to be increased  by Rs.210  the sources have stated,

This price hike is scheduled to be implemented here amidst the decrease in Crude oil prices at the World Market.

Former MP Hirunika Premachandre Along With A Group Of Females Protested In Front Of Premier's House

 Former Colombo District MP Hirunika Premachandre of the  Main opposition Samgijanabalawegaya (SJB) Party along with a group of females attached to the party had staged a protest campaign in front of the residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramsinghe in Flower Road ,Colombo 07 this morning accusing the premier for protecting the Rajapakshe regime amidst the economic crisis faced  by the country .



Although the Protesters had attempted to enter the residence area ,Police officers deployed there  had put barricades to prevent them from entering the residence, 

Customs Officers Taken In To Custody A Parcel Contains 13,640 Narcotic (ICE) Tablets

 Customs Officers attached to Colombo Central Mail Exchange had today (22) taken in to custody a Parcel received by the Mail Exchange from Netherlands containing 13,640 "Ice " (Methamphetamine ) tablets worth Rs.13.6 million .


The Parcel which contains narcotic tablets was addressed to a local individual and the Tablets were wrapped in seven bed sheets in the pack it has been revealed .As there was no one to claim the ownership of the parcel Customs Officers at the Central Mail Exchange had opened the Parcel and recovered the stock of Ice narcotic according to the sources.

The parcel was handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau for further investigations ,
