Twenty One Galle Face Protesters Were Arrested Over Blocking The Entrance Of Finance Ministry

 Police have today (20) arrested 21 protesters attached to the "Gotagogama" Protest site in Galle face green,Colombo over launching a protest against President Gotabahya Rajapakshe by blocking the main entrance of the Ministry of Finance in Colombo Fort .


Twenty one protesters including a Buddhist Priest were arrested for protesting by blocking the Ministry entrance and later they were released on bail after producing before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ,The arrested protesters were released on a surety bail of Rs.100,000 each it has been reported,

The protesters had built temporary huts at the main entrance of the Ministry of Finance against the Birthday celebration of President Rajapakshe they have stated afterward, Police along with Army personnel had removed the huts amidst the opposition of Protesters,

A Tense Situation At A Fuel Station In Kalutara

 A tense situation had occurred at a Fuel station in Meeghathanna area at Kalutara (Western Province ) few hours ago amongst a group of persons staying in queue to get fuel it has been reported.


To control the situation Army officers had fired gun shots to the air the reports have stated , 

No More Power Cuts During Morning Session For A Two Week Period -Public Utilities Commission

 A Decision had been taken not to impose power cuts from 7 a.m to 1 p,m  during next two weeks to facilitate online education of School children the Public Utilities Commission had announced.


Accordingly two hours and thirty minutes long power cut will be imposed during above period daily from 1 p.m to 10.30 p.m the Commission had stated .

Minister Of Power Want Public To Restrict Movements Amidst Current Fuel Crisis

 Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare had today (19) requested the public not queue up for Petrol ,Diesel and Kerosene oil in front of Fuel stations for the next three to four days until the fuel shipments arrive ,


Government has opened a letter of credit for US Dollars 90 million for a shipment of  Petrol and Diesel he had stated ,The shipment of Petrol is due to arrive in Colombo harbor on 23rd of June and the Shipment of Diesel on 24th of June the Minister has stressed.

Private buses will receive  fuel from the nearest Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Depot and School ,Staff and Tourist vehicles too receive fuel from the nearest SLTB Depot Minister Wijesekare has said ,A plan to issue fuel for Essential services will be implemented from this Friday and Fuel will be issued for Three wheelers and Motorcycles  for twice a week basis he has stated.
