Three Persons Arrested Over Attacks Against Gotagogama and Mainagogama Released On Bail

 Colombo Fort Magistrate had today (15) ordered to release three parsons including  MP Sanath Nisanatha and Moratuwa Mayor Samanlal Fernando  who were arrested and remanded  over the attacks carried out against the protesters at Gotagogama and Mainagogama protest sites in Colombo on 09thof May .


They were released on surety bail of Rs.10 million each and the Fort magistrate had imposed foreign travel ban on them.

Litro Seeks Another Price Hike Of Gas Cylinders

 Although there's an Island Wide shortage of Litro gas ,Litro Gas compnay had made a request from the government to give permission to increase a 12.5 KG Litro Gas cylinder by Rs.200 the New chairman of Litro Gas Company Muditha Pieris.


Authorities should not dismiss this request he has stated ,Meanwhile Litro Gas Company has decided to give priority to essential servicea when distributing gas due to the short supply of Gas .

Cabinet Decided Toi Declare Friday As A Holiday For Govt Sector Employees

 Cabinet has today (14) given approval for a Cabinet paper submitted regarding declaring Friday as a holiday for government employees except essential services from this week up to 03 month period due to the current fuel shortage .

According to the government this holiday will not apply to the essential services including Health ,transport ,Power and Energy ,Education ,Water ,Electricity ,Defense Port and Air services .Cabinet has also decided to  provide enough facilities to government sector employees to engage in cultivate activities in their backyards on Friday's in view of facing a food shortage in future.

Cabinet has also decided to provide no pay leave for government employees up to five years to engage in foreign employment ,


 

Many Vehicles Including Private Buses Are Due To Be Out Of The Roads Tomorrow (15)_

 Due to the severe  fuel shortage at present ,Around 90 percent of Private Buses as well as majority of Private vehicles will not be running tomorrow (15) according to the authorities .


There's a severe shortage of Diesel and Petrol in the country and as a result long queues can be seen in front of Fuel stations ,Many fuel stations were shut down due to the fuel shortage it has been reported .

Although Government had earlier  announced that Private buses will be received the fuel through Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depots that facility too halted according to Private Bus owners .
