Army Commander To Be Appointed Aa Chief Of Defense Of Stafff

 Army Commander General Shavendre De Silva is scheduled to be appointed as the Chief of Staff of  Defense with effect from 01st of June .


General De Silva is scheduled to be resigned from the Army Commander Post to resume duties as Chief Of Defense of Staff  it has been reported ,

Major General Vikum Liyanage who is the acting Chief of Defense Of Staff is scheduled to be appointed as the new Army Commander with effect  from 091st of June .

President Appointed A Cabinet Spokesman -Three Co Cabinet Spokesmen

 President Gotabaya Rajapakshe had today (23) appointed a Cabinet Spokesman and three  Co Cabinet spokesmen  of the New Cabinet ,


Accordingly Minister Of Media Bandula Gunawardane had been appointed as the New Cabinet Spokesman and Ministers Harin Fernando ,Mansuha Nanayakkara and Mahinda Amaraweera had been appointed as Co- Cabinet spokesemen . 

A New Circular To Call Only Essential Workers To Work In State Sector

 Due to the fuel crisis prevails in the island Ministry of Public Administration is due to issue a special circler for state sector tomorrow (24)giving special  powers to  the heads of the institutions to call only essential employees to the work .          


                                                                                                                                                                            Accordance to this new circular heads of the State Institutions can  only call an essential employees to work  with effect from tomorrow  (24).

Proposed 21st Amendment To The Constitution Submitted To The Cabinet

 The draft of the 21st Amendment to the Constitution which proposed to curtail the powers of Executive Presidency was submitted to the Cabinet  today (23) by the Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapkshe .


The draft bill  is seeking  to reintroduce the features contains in 19th amendment which gives more powers to the Prime Minister and the Parliament ,However the draft bill retains the powers vested to President on increasing the number of  judges to the high courts and President's power to dissolve the parliament only after  two and half years .

The Cabinet is scheduled to be considered the  proposed Amendment to the Constitution by next week .
