Few police officers were there among those injured according to reports ,The Government backed group who arrived at Gotago village in Galle Face green this morning had also removed the tents used by protesters to sleep and removed anti government banners hanged at the village according to reports ,

A Group Of Protesters Entered "Temple Trees " Premises -Police Fired Tear Gas

A group of Protesters gathered in front of the Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees " In Colombo had broken one of it's gates and entered inside it has been reported ,

Police had fired gun shots to the air as well as fired tear gas towards the protesters to disperse them it has been revealed .

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe Had Resigned

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajpakshe had resigned from his post this evening (09) amidst ongoing protests against him and his government .

Prime Minister Rajapakshe had sent his resignation letter to President Gotabaya Rajapakshe this evening the Prime Minister's office has announced ,According to the Constitution with the resignation of Prime Minister the Cabinet becomes defunct .

A group of persons had set on fire the ancestral home of President Gotabya Rajapakshe and Out going Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe at Madamulana in Hambanthota distract (Southern Province ) few hours ago .
