Ministry Of Finance Had Issued A Circular To Cut Down Government Expenditure
The Ministry Of Finance had issued a new circular announcing tough measures to restrict government spending for essential services only .
The Circular had instructed the authorities to stop all new recruitments for the state sector and advised to suspend all overtime payments of those employees who had not covered over time duty ,The total Overtime payment received by a Government employee should not exceeds the salary of that person it has been stated .
Government Decided To Import Chemical Fertilizers And Pesticides
Government had decided to import Chemical fertilizer and pesticides the imports which had been suspended recently according to Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Janaka Chakkumbura .
Due to the Government's Policy of using Organic fertilizer for crop cultivation in the country the importation of Chemical fertilizer and pesticides had been suspended since few months .However as Government has decided to import them again Minister Chakkumbura had requested the farmers to resume cultivation activities which suspended due to the shortage of Chemical fertilizer and pesticides .
A Request To Stop All Private Construction Work As A Protest Against Price Hike Of Cement
Sri Lanka National Constructions Union had requested the Public to stop all Private Construction Work for a period of three months as a protest against the Price hike of Cement .
If the Government and the public can stop all the Construction work for a period of three months at this stage Cement Companies cannot sell Cement and the prices of Cement will be decreased as a result he has stressed ,
