Electricity Bill Will Not Be Increased -Public Utilities Commission

 The Public Utilities Commission never given it's approval to increase the Electricity bill although the Ceylon Electricity Board had requested to increase the Bill on two occasions the President of the Commission Janaka Ratanayake has stated ,


There's no truth of the rumor's spreading in at present saying that there will be a 100 percent hike in Electricity bills Public Utilities Commission Chairman has stated.  Electricity  Bill will be increased accordance to a special mechanism not due to the recommendations of Politicians .

Litro Gas Increased The Prices Of All Varieties Of Gas Cylinders

 The Litro Gas Company which faced a severe Gas shortage  had increased the Prices of all varieties of Domestically used LP Gas with effect from Midnight tonight (26).


Accordingly the Price of a 12.5 KG LP Gas Cylinder had been increased by Rs.2185 to Rs.4860 the Company has announced, The Price of  a 5 KG LP Gas Cylinder had been increased by Rs.1081 to Rs. 1945 and Price of a 2.5 KG Gas Cylinder had  been increased by Rs.506 to Rs.910 .


Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe Had Refused To Step Down From His Post

 Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe had today (26) stated that he will not step down from his post no matter who ever ask him to do so and will step down if the Opposition shows they have the majority in Parliament .


Addressing a group of former Provincial Councilors at his official residence in Temple Trees at Colombo this morning ,Prime Minister Rajapakshe had stressed that if anyone can oust him from premiership can try to do so .

Earlier Prime Minister had stated that he will be the Prime Minister in an Interim Government scheduled  to be formed in future .

Many protests currently being held in Colombo and outstation areas  including the one at Galle Face Green in Colombo demanding the resignation of both Prime Minister and President ,

Colombo Magistrate Refused To Issue A Court Order Against A Protest Near Temple Trees

 Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kakunawela had today (25) refused a request made by Colpetty Police to issue an interim court order to remove a group of  protesters who were protested in front of Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees " In Colpetty (Colombo ) this evening .



Colombo Additional Magistrate had informed the Colpetty Police that the Court cannot issue an interim court order preventing a Protest without knowing the organizers of the Protest and advised the Police to use Police powers to disperse it if the Protest is being conducted in harmful manner ..

Litro Gas Failed To Resume Distribution Of Gas Today (25) As Announced

 Although Litro Gas Company the main Gas Provider in the country had announced that they will resume the distribution of Litro Gas from Today (25) after halting the distribution of Gas five days ago due to the shortage  .No Gas distribution had taken place at the two Gas terminals of the company in Muthurajawela and Kerawalapitiya today it has been reported .



Litro Gas had earlier announced that although they will stop distributing Domestic LP gas for five days until today essential services will receive Gas cylinders as usual .However it has been reported that Gas is out of stock in the company at present ,

A large number of consumers had been  seen today in queues in front of the Gas selling  outlets despite this situation .
