Three Persons Drowned In Two Rivers
Three persons had died due to drowning in waters whilst bathing in Seethawaka River in Dehiowita area and Thinipitiya Wewa (River )in Madamape today (26) according to Police .
Accordingly two persons had drowned at Seethawaka River and another person had drowned at thiinipitiya wewa it has been reported.
Two Corona Deaths Reported Today (26) -DGHS
Another 02 Corona deaths had been reported today (26) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,454 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).
Accordingly 02 females one each from over 60 year age group and 30-60 year age group had died due to Corona infection today the DGHS Has announced.
Twenty Five Persons Hospitalized Due To Lightning
Twenty five persons including children had been hospitalized this evening (26) due to a shock caused by lightning at a funeral held in Baminiwatte Cemetery ,Mawanalla it has been reported .
The lightning struck on a Coconut tree at the Cemetery and as a result Twenty five persons stand nearby had fallen according to eye witnesses .All those persons had been admitted to Mawanalla Hospital for treatment The lightning was struck just before the burial of a deceased female according to Mawanalla Police .

There Will Be No 10 Hour Power Cuts As Planned Next Week -Public Utilities Commission
There will be no 10 hour Island wide Power cuts next week as earlier planned due to the assurance given by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco ) to provide an adequate supply of fuel to Ceylon Electricity Board during next two weeks according to Public Utilities Commission .
If the Petroleum Corporation supplies the daily requirement of fuel to the Electricity Board from next Monday there's no need to increase the power cut hours to 10 hours the Commission chairman Janaka Ratnayake has stated ,
