Sri Lanka Navy Arrested 16 South Indian Fishermen

 Sri Lanka Navy had arrested 16 South Indian fishermen whilst they have  I legally  fishing in Sri Lankan shores at Kilinochhi-Iranathivu and Jaffna -Nedanthivu sea coastal areas in Northern Sri Lanka according to the Navy .

The arrested fishermen were handed over to t he fisheries department offices in Northern Sri Lanka for legal action it has been revealed .

248 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (24)

 A total number of 248 Corona Positives had been reported today (24) Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 660,399 according to Epidemiology Unit .

Accordingly 6938 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .637,011 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged up to now .

Only 4188 PCR tests and 2601 Rapid Antigen tests had been performed in the country yesterday (23), 

Five Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today(24)

 Another 05 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (24) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,450 according to Director General of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 04 females and 01 male had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 02 were over 60 years of age and03 were belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been revealed .

A Massive Protest March And Rally Was Held In Nugegoda Against Price Hikes And Shortages

National Peoples League (Jathika Janabalawegaya ) lead by leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) had organized a massive protest march and a rally in Nugegoda (Colombo District)this evening (23) blocking many roads in surrounding areas against fuel/Gas shortages and price hike of several commodities .

Protesters carried banners and placards showing  the  government who put so much burden on shoulders of general public need to be sent home .

Protesters marched from Delkanda Junction to Nugegoda Junction via High level Road and afterwards a  rally was held at Ananda Samarakoon Open Theater in Nugegoda under the patronage of Jathika Janabalawegaya leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake .
