Another 301 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (17)

 Another 301 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (17) increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 657,435 according to Epidemiology Unit .


At the moment 16,576 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

Only 4129 PCR Tests and 2740 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (16) according to Health Promotions Bureau .

Minister Of Power To Submit A Cabinet Paper To Increase Electricity Fares

 Minister of Power Pavithra Wanniarachchi had decided to submit a Cabinet paper to the cabinet next monday (21) regarding the increase of Electricity fares .


A discussion was held in this regard at the Ministry of Power yesterday (16) between the Minister and Electricity Board officials it had been reported.The proposal regarding the increasing of  electricity fares has been made by Electricity board to solve the current power crisis .

An Egyptian National Had Died After Falling From A Colombo -Badilla Bound Train

 A 32 year old Egyptian national had died after falling from the steps  of the "Udarata Manike'Train   travelling from Colombo to Badulla at pattipola train station  whilst on his way to Ella area yesterday (16).


The tourist who had been critically injured  after faling from the train had been admitted to the Nuwaraeliya Hospital and later transferred to a ptivate hospital in Colombo where he had succumbed to his injuries it has been reported .

The deceased had arrived in Sri Lanka a week ago and the post mortem of his death is scheduled to be held today (17).
