Eight Corona Death Announced For Today (07) By DGHS

 The Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) has today (07) announced another 08 Corona deaths amidst the decision announced by him recently that performing PCR Tests for the deaths in hospitals are not compulsory any more .


Accordingly the total number of Corona deaths reported so far had risen to 16,339 DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 05 were males and 03 were females and 06 of the deceased were over 60 years of age and one each  from   30-60 year age group  and under 30 year age group .

662 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (07)

 Another 662 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (07) Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 650,802 according to Epidemiology Unit .


At the moment 16,201 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated ,

Only 4041 PCR tests and 1937 Rapid Antigen Tests had performed in the country yesterday (06).

Another Island Wide Power Cut Scheduled For Tomorrow (07)

Public Utilities Commission has given permission to the Ceylon Electricity Board again to implement seven and half hour long power cut in two zones and three hour long power cut in rest of the zones tomorrow (07) the Public Utilities Commission had announced .


Accordingly seven and half hour power cut will be implemented in E and F zones  from 8 a.m to 11 p.m and three hour long power cut will be implemented from 9 a,m to 9 p.m tomorrow in the zones P.Q,R,S,T,U,V.W the Commission has stated ,

However president has last week advised officials not to implement power cuts after 05 th of March it has been announced ,

A Severe Gas Shortage In The Market

 A severe Gas shortage occurred in the local market these days due to the Dollar shortage according to Government sources .


Accordingly The main local Gas supplier Litro Gas Company had stopped issuing of LP Gas cylinders for all consumers including  large scale factories ,Crematoriums and hotels since last Friday(04).Litro Gas company has usually  issued 2000 Gas Cylinders per day and due to the current Gas shortage not being able to  meet the demand it has been reported .

Meanwhile three ships carrying LP Gas are being docked in Sri Lanka's sea since six days it has been reported .
