Another 24:Corona Deaths Reported Today (26)

 Another  24 Corona deaths had been reported in the country todsy (26)Imcreasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to  16,166 according to Director General Of Healrh Services (DGHS).


Accordingly 16 males and 08 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 19  were over 60 years of age and 05 of them were belonged to the 20=60 year age group it has been revealed .

No More Power Cuts During Night Period Of Today And Tomorrow

 There will be no more Island Wide power Cuts scheduled for Today (26) and Tomorrow (27) nights according to Public Utilities Commission .


Accordingly power cuts will be implemented  during day period in today and tomorrow the chairman of Public utilities Commission Janaka Ratnayake has stated.Under these power cuts 3 hour power cut will be implemented in the zones A,B and C and two and half hour power cuts will  be implwmented for the rest of the zones he has stated .There will be a two and half hpur power cut schedulded for tomorrow (27)noon .





LIOC Again Increased Fuel Prices

 As the price of a Crude oil barrel in the  world market is on the rise ,Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC)  has increased the prices of the  liter of  Diesel and Petrol by Rs.15 and Rs.20 respectively with efect from midnight last night(25) .


Accordingly The price of a liter of Auto Diesel has been increased to Rs.139 and a Liter of Octane -92 Petrol has been increased to Rs..204 it has been reported .LIOC had increased it's fuel prices on  06th of february as well.

Electricity Board To Recommend Government To Increase Electricity Fares

Higher  officials of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB)are planning to recomend the government through the Public Utilities Commission  to increase the Electricity fares  according to Electricity Board officials .


According to  the Electricity Board officials Electricity fare in the country has not been increased after 2014.The Electricity  fare has  been decreased by 25 percent  in 2014 they have stated .
