An Island Wide Power Cut Is Scheduled To Be Implemented Tomorrow (23)

There will be an Island Wide Power cut tomorrow (23) for  four hours  and forty minutes due to the fuel shortage face by Power plants according to t he Public Utilities Commission .


Accordingly the Zones A,B and C will be experienced a four hours and forty minute power cut from 8.30 a.m to 10.30 p,m tomorrow (two hour power cut in the morning and two hours and forty minute  power cut in the evening ) and the rest of the zones will be experienced four hours and thirty minute long power cut from 8.30 a.m to 9.30 p.m (two hour power cut in the morning and two hours and thirty minute power cut in the evening ) the Commission had stated .

According to the chairman of Public Utilities Commission Janaka Ratnayake the power cut scheduled for tomorrow will be implemented as the national power grid had lost 700 mega watts of power due to the fuel shortage ,

1254 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (22)

 A total of 1254 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (22) Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 639,297 according to Epidemiology Unit ,


Accordingly 15,916 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

Only 5721 PCR Tests and 2195 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (21).

Another 31 Corona Deaths Reported For Today (22)

 Another 31 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (22) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 16,055 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .


Accordingly 19 males and 12 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 24 were over 60 years of age and 05 were belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been revealed .Two of the deceased were under 30 years of age .

A Possibility Of Increasing The Prices Of Fuel -Minister Of Power

There's a possibility of Increasing Diesel and Petrol prices heavily if the authorities do not take any action to remove the import taxes imposed on fuel according to Minister of Power Udaya Gammapila .


\If there's no removal of taxes imposed on fuel ,the prices of a liter of Petrol will be increased by Rs.19 and a liter of Diesel will be increased by Rs.59 the Minister has stated .,
