554 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (23)

 A total of 554 Corona positives had been reported today (23) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 582,149 according to Epidemiology Unit .


Accordingly 8790 Corona positives are being treated at hospitals ,Quarantine centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

21 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (23)

 Another 21 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (23) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths that had been reported so far to 14,832 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS)


.

Accordingly 14 males And 07 females had died due to Corona infection DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 16 were over 60 years of age and 03 were belonged to 30-60 year age group.

One of the  deceased was under 30 years old it has been revealed .

Another Three Omicron Positives Had Been Reported In The Country

 Another 03 Omicron positives had been reported from Sri Lanka today (22) Increasing the total number of Omicron positives reported so far from the country to 07 according to Medical Specialists.

According to the Virologist attached to Medical Research Institute in Colombo Dr Jude Jayuamaha two of the positives were returnees from Sudan and One was a returnee from Tanzania .However still the authorities are not revealed the number of close contacts of these Omicron positives who had tested positive for the variant .

12,000 Cafes And Bakeries Had Been Shut Down Due To Gas Shortage

 Around 12,000 Cafeterias attached to state and private institutions, schools as well as  Bakeries Island wide  had been completely shut down due to the ongoing  Gas shortage and high prices of vegetables and other ingredients need to make Bakery products according to the All Ceylon Canteen  Owners Association

Accordingly around 4000 Cafeterias and 3500 Bakeries are among those which had completely shut down it has been revealed .
