Another 03 Omicron Positives Had Been Reported In The Country Today

Another 03 persons infected with contagious "Omicron "Corona variant had been identified from Sri Lanka today (16) increasing the total number of Omicron Positives reported from the country to 04 according to the Director of the Department of Immunology And Molecular Medicine in Sri Jayawardanpura University. Dr .Chandima Jeewandara .

One of the positives identified today is a foreign national who had left the country already it has been revealed ,

Although this contagious Omicron variant is known as spreading like a wild fire Sri Lankan health authorities still said they are checking the whereabouts the latest three Omicron Positives ,

Medical specialists had stated that now through these 04 positives the variant might be infected to hundreds of other people in the society ,

758 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (16)

A total of 758 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (16) Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 577,724 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 16,528 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated ,

Another 21 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (16)

Another 21 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (16) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 14,698 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .

Accordingly 12 males and 09 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has sated .Out of the deceased 14 were over 60 years of age and 07 were belonged to 30-60 years age group it has been revealed ,
