 The Kandy -Colombo main road has been  closed again  from Lower Kadugannawa (Pahala Kadugannawa ) area from 12 in the midnight today (27) until 6 a.m tomorrow (28) according to Road Development Authority .

This step has been taken due to the landslide threat occurred in the area following the prevailing adverse weather the Authority has stated ,The Road was closed for few days due to the landslide threat few weeks back and it was reopened again ,

Motorists are being advised to use an alternative routes when travelling ,

A Total Of 719 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (27)

 A Total of 719 Corona positives had been reported today (27) ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 561,778 according to Epidemiology Unit ,

At the moment 18,260 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

Another 20 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (27)

 Another 20 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (27) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far in the country to 14,278 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .

Accordingly 13 males and 07 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 16 were over 60 years of age and 04 were belonged to the 30-60 year age group it has been revealed .

Government Had Restricted School Holidays In December To Four Days

Government has decided to restrict the School Holidays for the upcoming festive season to  just four days  according to the Ministry Of Education .

Accordingly School Children will receive 23rd ,24th ,25th and 26th of December as Holidays for the Christmas season and Schools will be reopened for studies again from 27th of December the Ministry has stated .

The decision to restrict school holidays for the festive season was taken as schools in the country had been closed for more than a year due to the Corona pandemic
