Another 728 Corona Positives Had Been Reported In The Country Today (17)

 A total number of 728 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (16) Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 553,722 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 14,477 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under Home care system the Unit has stated .

Only 5307 PCR Tests and 2966 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country yesterday (16) according to Health Promotions Bureau .

Ministry Of Health Has Approved Corona Pill "Molnopiravir"For The Use In Sri Lanka

 The technical committee of the Ministry of Health has approved the use of Anti Corona pill ,"Molnopiravir" for the use in Sri Lanka it has been announced .

The pill developed by Merck Pharmaceutical company in USA now  need the  approval  of  National Drug Authority for emergency use in Sri Lanka the Ministry of Health has stated .Drug authority Is currently considering this matter Ministry has further said .

Massive Crowd Had Attended The Protest Rally Held In Colombo Yesterday (16)

Massive crowd had attended the protest march and rally held in Galle face ,Colombo last  evening (16) organized by Main opposition SamagibJana Balawegaya(SJB)to oppose   the rising inflation rate ,and the shortage of essential   commodities ,fertilizer and fuel /Gas. 

Many protesters who had attempted to participate the protest had been turned away by police in outstation areas.However 

Thousands of other protesters had joined  the protest march despite the objections of police .

Speeking at the protest opposition leader Sajith premadasa has said  that Samagi Janabalawegaya will form a corruptles  and freaudless government .

Present government couldn't even provide basic needs of the people and as a result there's a shortage of Fertilizer ,gas ,fuel and other  essential commodities  he has stated .

Although protesters wore masks during the protest physical distancing was not adhered to according to reports .

Earlier court has refused to issue an interim order to prevent this protest as requested by police .

Ten Buddhist Monks In Minuwangoda Had Been Tested Positive For Corona Virus

 Ten Buddhist Monks attached to a Pirivena (Educational Institution for Buddhist studies ) in Devalapola ,Balabowa area at Minuwangoda MOH division had been tested positive for Corona virus according to the MOH office .

One of the Buddhist Monks had been tested positive for Corona virus on 10th of November after undergoing a Rapid Antigen Test at a Private Medical Center due to the suspicious Corona virus symptoms appeared .After being informed Health Authorities had performed Rapid Antigen Tests for 09 other Bhikkus at the Pirivena and  found that all of them were infected with Corona virus .

All 10 Buddhist Monks tested positive for Corona virus are being quarantined at Pirivena according to
Minuwangoda Moh Office ,

Another 18 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (16)

 A total of 18 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (16) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 14,034 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .

Accordingly 09 males and 09 females had died today due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 16 were over 60 years of age and 02 were belonged to the age group 30-60 years the DGHS has stated .
