723 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Toda

 A Total of 723 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (12) increasing the total number of Corona positives  reported so far to 548,784 according to Epidemiology Unit.


At the moment 11.712 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under Home Care system the Unit has stated .

23 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (12)

 Another 23 Corona deaths had been reported  in the country today (12) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 13,950 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).


Accordingly 12 females and 11 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated Out of the deceased 21 were over 60 years of age it has been revealed . One of the deceased  was belonged to the age group 30-60 years and another one was under 30 years ,

A New Set Of Health Guidelines Issued Halting Public Gatherings /Meetings Without Permission

 The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Asela Gunawardane  had today (11) issued a special gazette notification containing  new Health guidelines making compulsory to obtain  prior approval for public gatherings ,meetings ,activities and events due to the Corona pandemic situation at present .


Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella has made the regulation under sections 2 and 3 of the Quarantine and prevention of diseases ordinance .

According to Director General Of Health Services a legal action will be taken against those who hold public gatherings and meetings without permission of relevant authorities l,

Draft Bill On Extending The Retirement Age Of Private Sector Employees Had Been Approved In Parliament

The  Draft Bill   on increasing the retirement age of Private sector employees to 60 years had been passed in the Parliament today (11).

Minister Of Labor Nimal Siripala De silva has presented the Bill  to the Parliament on 22nd of October and the debate on that was held yesterday (10).On Tuesday (09) the Bill had received the approval of Ministerial Consultative Committee on Labor for the purpose of being presented to the Parliament .
