Administering Booster Corona Vaccine Dose Scheduled To Begin Tomorrow (01)-Again Over 60 Years Old Are Being Ignored

 Sri Lanka to begin adninisrring Booster dose (Third diose ) of the Corona vaccine for those who had received the second dose  of Corona vaccine six months back according to Director General Of Health Derviced (DGHS) Dr Asela Ginawardane .


Accordingly Pfizer vaccine will be used for the Booster vaccine dose and under the first phase the Booster dose will be given to frontline health care workers and members of the TRI forces Dr Gunswardane has stated .

Under the second phase the Booster vaccine dose will be given to the employees in Harbour ,Airlines and tourism sectors followed by over 60 year old citizens it has been revealed .

Thereafter those over 30 years old with complications will be given the booster dose followed by all over 20 years old DGHS has announcec .

According to the Medical specialists when administering Booster vaccine dose  priotity should be given to those over 60 years of age .

542 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (31)

 A total of 542 Corona Positives had been repprted in the country today (31) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 541,073 the Epidemiology Unit has stated .


At the moment 14,532 Corona podotives are being treated at hospitals ,Quarantjne centers and under Home care system the Unit has stressed .


During yesterday (30) 6232 PCR Tests and  2949 Rapid antigen tests had been performed in the country according to Health Promotions Bureau .

Another 18 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (31)

 Another 18 Corona Deaths had been reported in the Country today (31), increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 13,743 accotding to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).


Accordingly 10 males and 08 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .

All the deceased were over 60 years of age it has been reported .

Director General Of Health Services Had Issued New Guidelines To Carryout Activities Until 15 th Of November

 The Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr.Asela Gunswardana had issued new Health Guidelines to carryout activities in the country upto 15 th of November affer lifting Inter provincial travel restrictions imposed in islandwide  from 4 a m today  (31)


According to the New Health Guidelines public are being advised to avoid unnecessary movements and Government and private sector offices are being advised to functioned with limited number of employees .Working from home is  encouraged it says .Essential services and industries should be functioned with minimum number of employees .

Up to 100 guests are being allowed to attend Weddingd host in indoor spaces and 150 to attemd weddings host in outdoor spaces However serving liquor in these parties is   banned ..

In funeral s up to 20 persons can be attended and up to 10 person's allowed to participate in functions held in houses .Up to 150 person's can be participated for office meetings .

In Restuarents up to 75 person's can be dined at once in indoors and 100 in outdoors .In supermarkets and Banks customers representing  one third of it's capacity can be there  at once 

Spectators are being allowed to participate in sports events .

Those institutions which are violating these guidelines will be punished according to the law DGHS had stated.

Meanwhile Inter provincial Train and Bus services are being allowed to be functioned normally by following health guidelines with effect from tomorrow(01).
