Ministry Of Education To Open Grade 10,11,12 and 13 Classes Island wide

 Amidst Corona spread the Ministry Of Education has decided to reopen the Grade 10,11,12 and 13 classes of  all Schools in the island from 08th of November under the Health Guidelines issued by the Ministry Of Health .


The Ministry of Education which had opened all primary classes in schools from last week has planned to open Grade 6-9 in all schools once received Health guidelines from the Health Ministry the Ministry has stated .

564 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (30)

 A Total of 564 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (30) ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 539,981 according to the Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 13,775 Corona positives are being treated at hospitals /Quarantine Centers and under Home Care system the Unit has stated .

A total of 5484 PCR Tests and 3589 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed  in the country yesterday (29).

19 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (30)

 Another 19 Corona deaths had been reported today (30) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 13,725 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).


Accordingly 12 males and 07 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 12 were over 60 years of age and 07 were belonged to 30-60 year age group it has been revealed .

Health Guidelines Issued For G.C.E Ordinary Level And Advanced Level Students

 The Health Authorities had issued Health guidelines for G.C.E Ordinary level and Advanced Level students in view of opening their classes soon prior to the examinations 


During the Covid Control Committee meeting held today (29) President Gotabahya Rajapaskhe had urged the need to commence school education which is badly hit due to the Corona pandemic ,He had advised the authorities to check the possibility of opening Universities for first year students .

Inter Provincial Travel Restrictions To Be Lifted From This Sunday (31)

The Inter provincial travel restrictions that had been imposed in the country since 20th of August in view of curbing the spread of Corona pandemic are scheduled to be lifted with effect from 4 a.m on this Sunday (31) according to the Covid Control Committee .


The Covid Control Committee which met through Zoom technology today has decided to lift the Inter Provincial Restrictions imposed in the country from this Sunday .

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Railways had stated that operation  of  Inter Provincial Train services will   commence from next Monday (01) after the lifting of the Travel restrictions .However Government has not officially announced on operation of  train services .

However Sri Lanka Railways had stated that it will begin selling  Train tickets from Monday ,
