Vice Chancellors Were Given Power To Re Open Universities Within This Week

 The University Grants Commission (UGC) had yesterday (26)given permission for the Vice Chancellors of all State Universities in the country to re open the Universities which were closed due to the Corona pandemic within this week under the strict Health Guidelines .

Accordingly authorities can recall students who had taken their se
cond Corona vaccine dose 14 days ago  to the Universities batch by batch the UGC Has announced.

Another 559 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (

 A total of 559 Corona positives had  been reported in the country today (27) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 538,320 according to the Epidemiology Unit .

Accordingly at the moment 20,270 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals /Quarantine Centers and under Home Care system the Unit has stated .

Meanwhile 373 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged from Hospitals and Quarantine Centers in the island today .With this number the total number of Corona positives recovered and discharged so far had risen to 504,376 the Epidemiology Unit has stated , 

20 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (27)

 Another 20 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (27) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 13,674 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 11 males and 09 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS had stated .Out of the deceased 12 were over 60 years of age and 08 were belonged to 30-60 year age group .

Central Bank Governor Has Been Given The Status Of A Cabinet ,MON

 The Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabral has been given the status of a Cabinet Minister according to the Ministry Of Home Affairs .

According to the latest table of precedence  of the government the Central Bank Governor has been ranked fifth and his designation now be equal to t he Opposition Leader ,Cabinet Minsters and Field Marshal   al the Ministry has stated .

 A Total of 556 Corona positives had been reported today (26) according to the Epidemiology Unit .With these positives the total number of Corona positives reported so far in the country had risen to 537,201 the Unit has stated .

At the moment 19,544 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals /Quarantine Centers and under Home Care system it has been revealed .

Only 5820 PCR tests and 2892 Rapid Antigen tests had been performed in the country yesterday (25).
