 The husband of the former Deputy Minister Nirupama Rajapakshe ,Thirukumar Nadesan has today (08) appeared before the  Commission to investigate  allegations of  Bribery and Corruption for questioning over his involvement  in   illegal transactions   revealed through  the  Controversial Pandora Papers ,

He had recorded a statement regarding the allegations levelled against him through the Pandora papers before the Bribery Commission and left it has been reported ,

President Gotabaya Rajapakshe had  last Wednesday ordered the Commission to investigate on Sri Lankans   mentioned in Pandora papers .and submit a report within a month ,

746 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (08)-6282 PCR Tests Performed Yesterday (07)

 A total of 746 Corona Positives had been reported today (08) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 524,937 according to Epidemiology Unit ,

At the moment 32,488 Corona Positives are being treated at hospitals /Quarantine centers  and under Home care system the Unit has stated ,However only 6282 "PCR " tests and 3696 Rapid Antigen tests had been performed in the Country yesterday (07).

Another 421 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged today ,Increasing the total number of recovered Corona positives in the country to 479,182 it has been revealed ,

 Another 38 Corona deaths had been reported today (08) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 13,267 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS ) Dr.Asela Gunawardane ..

Accordingly 20 males and 18 females had died due  to Corona infection today the DGHS has stated ,Out of the deceased 26 were over 60 years of age and 12 were belonged to the 30-60 year age group .

Twenty Two Health Trade Unions To Launch A Strike Tomorrow (08)

 Twenty Two Health professions attached to Government Hospitals  including Government Nurses ,Paramedics ,Professions Supplementary To Medicine (PSM) and Minor staff are scheduled to launch a one day token strike  tomorrow (08)  by walking out from their work places m demanding solutions for 08 of their service demands according to the Health Trade Union Alliance ,

Only emergency services in Government Hospitals   will be maintained during the strike  the Trade Union Alliance comprising of  44 Health  Trade Unions has stated .,Some of the demands made by the Trade unions are avoid cutting  special leave granted to health workers during the Corona Pandemic  and giving  the special allowance of Rs,7500 to health workers  

The striking health workers  are due to hold protest campaigns IN front of major government hospitals during the lunch hour .

Health Authorities has not given any discussion for the Trade Union Alliance  regarding tomorrow's strike According to the  Union sources .,
