Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Cabral Has Been Appointed to The Same Post

President Gotabaya Rajapakshe had appointed former Central Bank Governor Ajith Niwad Cabral as the new Governor of the Bank with effect from this Thursday (15) President's Media Division has announced.

New Central Bank Governor Cabral who had resigned from his state ministerial portfolio of the current government had been appointed to replace outgoing Governor of the Bank Professor W.D Lakshman who is due to resign from his post tomorrow (14) ,The new Central Bank governor had been questioned by Good governance government over financial scandals involved in the Bank during the previous regime ,

2560 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (13)

A total of 2560 Corona positives had been reported today (13) in the island ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 488,482 according to the Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 62,756 Corona positives are being treated at Government /Private hospitals /Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated ,

Another 135 Corona Deaths Reported Today (13)

Another 135 Corona deaths had been reported today (13) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 11,431 the Director General Of Health (DGHS) has announced .

Accordingly 71 Males and 64 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has stated .Out of the deceased 190 were over 60 years of age and 26 were belonged to 30-60 year age group .
