Government has decided to re impose the travel restrictions islandwide from 10 p m tomorrow night (23) until 4 a.m this Friday (25) with the aim of people's movement during the forthcoming poson Poya day (24) it has been announced .
Earlier government had been lifted the islandwide travel restrictions imposed since 24 th of May last Sunday Upto 05 th of July ,even the authorities had failed to control the current Corona wave .
Another 2071 Corona positives had been reported today (22) in the country ,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 243,891 according to National Covid 19 prevention Center .
At the moment 31,984 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers the center has stated .
A total of 71 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (22) increasing the total number of Corona deaths to 2704 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly 38 females and 33 males had died due to Covid Pneumonia and complications of non communicable diseases as a result of the Corona infection the Center has stated. .Many of the deceased were of the age over 60 years
Accordingly 30 males and 22 females had died due to Covid pneumonia and complications occurred as a result of non communicable diseases they have suffered from.due to the Corona infection .
Majority of the deceased were of the ages over 60 years it had been reported .
