Imprisoned Former CID Director Shani Abeysekare Has Been Released On Bail

 The Court of Appeal has today (16) released the imprisoned former Director of Criminal Investigations Department (CID ) nick named as Sherlock Holmes in Sri Lanka Police ,Shani Abeysekare on strict bail conditions .


The former CID Director Mr .Abeysekare had been bail out after considering the bail application submitted to the court by his lawyers .Sub Inspector Sugath Mendis who was  remanded along with Mr .Abeysekare over the same offence  had been also released on bsil today .

The Former CID Director and the Sub Inspector Mendis were imprisoned over the charges of creating false evidence on Former DIG Vaas Gunswardane in a case filed at courts .

Both Mr Abeysekare and Sub Inspector Mendis were asked to submit their passports to the courts .

2275 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (15)

 Another 2275 Corona Positives Had been reported yesterday (15) increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported in the country to 228,256 according to Ministry Of Health .


At the moment 33,158 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers .


Twelve Children Of A Children's Home In Baddegama Area Tested Positive For Corona Virus

 Fifteen Children and staff members attached to a Children's Home in Halpathota at Baddegama area in Galle District had been tested positive for Corona virus yesterday (15) according to reports 


Accordingly Twelve Children and three Staff members attached to  the Children's home had been tested positive for Corona virus it had been been revealed .They were admitted to the Arachchikanda Treatment Center for treatment.

.Meanwhile PCR  tests are scheduled to be performed on  other children and staff members of the Children's home it has been revealed .

55 Corona Deaths Been Reported Yesterday (15)

 Another 55 Corona Deaths had been reported yesterday (15) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 2315 according to the Ministry Of Health .


Accordingly 33 males and 22 females had died died due to Covid pneumonia and complications occurred as a result of the non communicable diseases they have suffered from the Ministry has stated .

Out of these deaths 44 were over 60 years old and 11 were of the ages 30-60 years it has been revealed .

Meanwhile Epidemeology Unit has stated that 57 Corona deaths had been reported yesterday (15).
